Sports

Sports represents one country in numerous ways. It exhibits the talent and capability of the people which makes a person successful. However in India it is totally the opposite. Sport is something which has not been given much importance since the past one decade, and when I say sport I mean other than cricket. Indians have a mindset, where the word Sports revolves only around Cricket. It continues to dominate India’s sporting landscape and no other sport gets the attention it deserves.

Politics and Media are the only reason why there is a downfall in Indian Sports. Corruption plagues all major Indian sports, including hockey, weightlifting, and athletics. The governing boards of the sports federations are under the control of politicians and bureaucrats who have little or no interest and knowledge of the specific requirements and anticipated problems in that sports.

There are so many young, strong and talented players who just need our support and a chance to prove themselves. However in the past two years we have seen some tremendous change. Sports like Badminton, Table Tennis and Squash have also been played and the players are appreciated. Within the next decade or so, India plans to become the new super-power of sport and this could be a massive game changer to the Indian sporting scenario if these programs are managed efficiently.
