Right from a very young age, we are told that boys are meant to do certain things and girls a different set of things. But in reality and in today’s world, is it true that men and women should only stick to the rules laid down by society?
Women in India especially do not have the opportunity to carry on with their education with families either getting them engaged and married off before 18 or as soon as they turn 18. They are not encouraged to voice out their opinions and do not have a voice of their own in most cases and hence do not come out with the problems they regularly face. Men are looked down upon too if they do some of the work we as women do such as cooking, cleaning etc. But most of the time it is the man who ill treats the woman as though they have no worth. It should be understood that even though looking after the house may not bring income, it is very much essential for a person to live and have a peaceful life.
What I feel is that the essence of a woman is far more than that of a man and hence it is important to see both the nurturer and the provider as equal components without which life would stop to exist the way we see it.
