The migration of people from rural to urban areas is a very big problem in a country like India, which needs to first work on rural development and rural rejuvenation to eradicate problems like poverty, unemployment etc. Cities tend to get over crowded and the people who have migrated end up doing odd jobs like being maids, rag pickers, waiters, helpers etc which do not fetch them much income.

The main reason for this mass migration is more or less due to the fact that agriculture fails to provide a living to these people and the lack of various facilities such as education, health care, infrastructure etc. This needs to stop for the smooth functioning of the country.
